Event
The ADAC Nürburgring Classic is Germany's premier historic motorsport meeting, held annually over three days at the Nürburgring in the Eifel region of Rhineland-Palatinate. The event brings together hundreds of classic and vintage racing cars on two of the most storied circuits in motorsport: the Grand Prix circuit and the iconic Nordschleife. With multiple race classes, demonstration runs and a full supporting programme, it draws competitors and spectators from across Europe for what organisers describe as a motorsport festival of superlatives.
The Nürburgring itself opened in 1927 and immediately became one of the world's most demanding and celebrated circuits. The Nordschleife, stretching over 20 kilometres through the forested hills of the Eifel, earned its reputation for difficulty and drama across decades of sports car racing, Formula One, and endurance events. Racing at the Ring carries a weight of history that few venues can match, and the Classic exists partly to honour that legacy. In 2027 the circuit marks its centenary, and the event's Road to 100 programme has built momentum toward that milestone across recent editions.
The 2026 programme spans multiple classes and formats. The GLP Track Masters offers three regularity runs on the Grand Prix circuit, while the Experience Nordschleife sessions give non-racing drivers the rare opportunity to take their own classic car onto the Nordschleife. Competitive racing categories include the Youngtimer Trophy, Touring Cars Golden Ära, Boss GP Racing Series, Historic Monoposto Racing, Lurani Trophy for Formula Junior cars, and a Vintage Meeting in the historic paddock reserved for pre-war and early post-war vehicles. The 2025 edition attracted 23,000 visitors across the weekend.
The Nürburgring is located near the village of Nürburg in the Eifel, approximately 70 kilometres south of Cologne. The Grand Prix paddock and historic paddock are open to visitors throughout the event, and the programme is complemented by live music, a 38-metre Ferris wheel, brand club gatherings and evening fireworks. For those combining the event with a road trip, the Eifel landscape and the surrounding Moselle wine region make for an ideal multi-day excursion.
