Demo Motors Showcase

Field Report
A Pagani Zonda on the ice. A Maserati MC12 with its exhaust pointed at your face. A Koenigsegg doing laps of the main street. Six Swiss Air Force jets overhead. There is genuinely no other Saturday like this anywhere in Europe.

Event

This is an example event for demonstration purposes, not a real event. The Classic Motors Showcase brings together over 300 collector and classic vehicles across four days at the Stadthalle Erding, just outside Munich. The selection spans pre-war rarities through to iconic European sports cars of the 1970s and 80s, with dedicated display sections for coachbuilt bodywork, competition-prepared road cars, and unrestored barn finds. Each category is presented with period documentation where available, giving context to the vehicles on show rather than just the cars themselves.

The event draws serious enthusiasts, private collectors, and restoration specialists from across the DACH region and neighbouring countries. A trade section runs in parallel with the public exhibition, offering access to specialist parts suppliers, upholstery workshops, and marque clubs. The concours element follows a judged format with classes separated by decade and country of origin, and results are announced on the final afternoon.

Live restoration demonstrations take place daily in a dedicated workshop area, where visitors can watch ongoing projects at various stages of completion and speak directly with the restorers. A panel discussion programme covers topics including correct-colour matching, sourcing period-correct components, and navigating classic car regulations across European markets.

Admission starts from €20 for single-day entry; four-day passes and specialist trade badges are available in advance through the organiser's website. The Stadthalle Erding is served by the S-Bahn S2 line from Munich city centre, with journey times of around 40 minutes.
