BimmerFest Europe

Event

Raceway Venray is a half-mile oval in the Dutch province of Limburg, built in 1954 and used mainly for American-style oval racing. One day each June it fills with BMWs instead. BimmerFest Europe has been using the venue long enough that the combination now feels obvious: a contained, well-organised space that handles large crowds without becoming a traffic problem, with enough room to spread the cars out properly.

The gathering covers the full width of BMW culture. E30s and 2002s share the infield with current M-Division cars, Alpinas, and builds that have moved well beyond factory specification. Club attendance is strong – groups arrive in convoy from Germany, Belgium, the UK and further – which gives certain corners of the car park a different character depending on when you walk through. The exhibitor lane runs alongside with the usual mix of specialist dealers, aftermarket suppliers and wheel brands.

Paddock access is available for those who bring their own BMW, which changes the dynamic considerably: you park among the display cars rather than watching from outside. For a single-day event without a ticket structure beyond entry, that level of access is unusual and worth using if the car qualifies.

Venray sits in the southeastern Netherlands close to the German border, about an hour from Cologne and two from Düsseldorf. The surrounding area is flat and agricultural, with decent back roads connecting the circuit to the motorway network in most directions.
