British Auto Jumble

Event

What began as MG Club members trading spare parts from their car boots has grown into the largest traditional auto jumble on the European continent. Every June, the Lidopark in Waalwijk fills with over a thousand British classics and more than two thousand visitors united by their appreciation for everything that once rolled out of Coventry, Oxford and Solihull.

The format stays true to its roots. Tables overflow with the parts and pieces that keep these cars alive – Lucas electrics, SU carburettor components, Smiths gauges, rubber seals, trim clips and all the hard-to-find items that send MGB owners into quiet celebration. Professional traders mix with private sellers clearing their garages, and the knowledgeable browsing has a rhythm of its own: picking up a part, turning it over, checking the number, negotiating a price.

Beyond the jumble, every major British marque club stakes out its paddock on the grass. Jaguar Daimler Club Holland, Triumph owners, Land Rover enthusiasts, Rolls-Royce and Bentley devotees, Austin Healey clubs – each brings their members' cars and creates a rolling display of British motoring heritage. You'll see everything from immaculate concours restorations to daily drivers wearing their patina with pride.

The atmosphere is genuinely relaxed. Jazz drifts across from the Mardigrass band, the Clan Lamont Pipe Band adds Scottish flavour, and there's ample space to settle with a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich while watching the parade of chrome bumpers and wire wheels. Entry is free, the event runs from morning to late afternoon, and it's the kind of day where you might arrive looking for a door handle and leave having made three new friends and agreed to join a club run.
