Donington Historic Festival returns for its 15th edition from May 1 to 3, 2026, delivering three packed days of historic racing at one of Britain's most celebrated circuits. Organized by Motor Racing Legends, this flagship event celebrates nine decades of motorsport with hundreds of classic racing cars pushed to their limits on Donington Park's fast, flowing layout.
The comprehensive race program spans automotive history from pre-war sports cars to modern classics. Grids include the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy and Stirling Moss Trophy for 1950s sports racers, the prestigious HMRN Pre '63 GT series featuring Ferrari 250SWBs, Jaguar E-types and AC Cobras, and the crowd-pleasing Pre-'66 Touring Cars with thundering Ford Galaxies battling nimble Lotus Cortinas and Alfa GTAs. The Historic Touring Car Challenge brings 1970s and 1980s tin-tops to life, while GT3 Legends showcases early-era GT3 machinery including BMW Z4s, Ferrari 458s and Aston Martin Vantages.
The unique Generations Trophy makes its Donington debut in 2026, adding another dimension to an already diverse program. Beyond the racing, Formula 1 demonstration sessions, parade laps, and special displays bring additional excitement throughout the weekend.
The paddock remains openly accessible, allowing spectators to get close to the cars and teams between sessions. Viewing highlights include the famous Craner Curves and Old Hairpin sections, where the circuit's character truly comes alive. Numerous car clubs display hundreds of classic road cars across the venue, while a themed trade area offers memorabilia and specialist items for enthusiasts.
