Espíritu de Montjuïc

Event

Espíritu de Montjuïc returns to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from March 27 to 29, 2026, reviving the legendary spirit of Barcelona's iconic Montjuïc street circuit. Organized by Escudería Targa Iberia, this premier Spanish historic motorsport festival honors the "Magic Mountain" circuit that hosted racing from 1932 until 1975, including Formula One battles featuring Jim Clark and Jackie Stewart.

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya provides a technically demanding 4.657-kilometer stage across three days of continuous racing. The 2026 edition welcomes Peter Auto, bringing their Le Mans Classic Series to Barcelona. Over 300 competition vehicles contest nine racing categories including GT Classics, touring car legends, sports prototypes, Group C endurance machines, and Masters Historic Formula One featuring grand prix cars from 1966 to 1985.

Espíritu de Montjuïc recreates the complete atmosphere of golden-age motorsport weekends. The expansive paddock remains open, allowing visitors to wander among Le Mans winners while meeting teams and drivers. Beyond racing, the festival grounds host a vintage village marketplace, fairground attractions, live music, and social dancing events.

The family-friendly festival welcomes all ages with dedicated children's activities. The event partners with Legado María de Villota and Fundación Ana Carolina Diez Mahou, honoring Spanish driver María de Villota through charitable initiatives.

Visitors arriving in classic vehicles can access special parking within circuit grounds. The Circuit offers guided tours of facilities. The 2025 edition attracted 11,923 spectators, demonstrating strong appeal within the European historic racing community.
